BTX Named Professional A/V Distributor for Quantum Data’s Handheld Video Test Instruments

As Part of Expanded HDMI Offering, BTX Now Carries Quantum Data’s 780 Handheld Test Instrument and HT-180 Handshake Tester

BTX Technologies, a global value-added distributor and manufacturer of interface and integration products, today announced that it has been selected as a distributor for Quantum Data™ Inc., a worldwide provider of video test equipment. Under the agreement, BTX will promote and sell Quantum Data’s 780 Handheld Test Instrument and HT-180 Handshake Tester for HDMI to A/V systems integrators across the United States.

Ideal for field and lab environments, Quantum Data’s test instruments are essential in diagnosing HDMI interoperability issues during installation setup. The 780 Handheld Test Instrument is a portable multimedia A/V signal generator and analyzer that can quickly test the HDMI digital ports on HDMI 1.3 devices, such as HDTVs, projectors, A/V receivers, etc. The HT-180 Handshake Tester allows installers to identify the root cause of HDMI interoperability problems in a system comprised of two or three devices. These powerful testers provide installers with the tools they need to ensure top-quality installations.

“We are excited to begin distributing Quantum Data’s 780 and HT-180 testing instruments for HDMI. They work hand in hand with our ever-expanding HDMI offering, especially our new field-terminatable HDMI connectors. I look forward to making these innovative solutions more available to our discerning customers,” said Greg Schwartz, president of BTX Technologies. “Quantum Data’s products perfectly complement our own HDMI offerings, allowing us to supply A/V professionals with everything they need for installations of the highest quality.”

“BTX Technologies has a long history of bringing innovation and quality to the A/V experience,” said Chuck Evans, general sales manager of Quantum Data. “We are excited about our partnership, which allows us to rely on BTX’s wealth of industry knowledge to bring our testing solutions to a much larger breadth of systems integrators.”

Effective immediately, BTX will carry Quantum Data’s 780 and HT-180 testing instruments, and will offer live demos and dealer training sessions around the country.
