Tripp Lite’s New Console Station Allows Computer-Free Access to B064 IP KVM Switches

Remote-User Console Station Reduces Security Vulnerabilities

Chicago, IL (August 18, 2020)—Tripp Lite, a global manufacturer of power protection and connectivity solutions, offers an alternative to using a computer for remotely accessing Tripp Lite B064 IP-accessible KVM switches in data centers, control rooms and network operations centers.

Tripp Lite’s KVM over IP Remote-User Console Station, model B064-000-STN, can be used in place of a desktop or laptop computer to control servers that are connected to Tripp Lite B064-IPG KVM switches. This enterprise-level console station does not have an operating system or software, which eliminates the risk of a virus, malware or a key tracker running in the background. Users add a keyboard, mouse and HDMI monitor to the console station to control the servers. In panel array mode, users can view the video output from as many as 64 connected servers.

A Java-free platform allows administrators to avoid access issues and security vulnerabilities associated with Java applets. The console station requires only a single sign-in to access all the B064 IP KVM switches on the network, consolidating management and removing the need for multiple passwords. The console station accepts up to two USB flash drives and allows each drive to act as virtual media on the connected servers.

"Computers require frequent system and software updates that can cause compatibility issues and security risks in networks," said David Posner, Vice President of Product Marketing, Connectivity. "Tripp Lite’s Remote-User Console Station is a smart alternative to using a desktop or laptop to remotely access servers connected to KVM switches. It simplifies management while eliminating software-related vulnerabilities."
