Online
training library, Destination University®,
features over 150 discussions with top business experts, world-class authors,
recorded via Mediasite
MADISON, Wis. — September 10,
2015 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted global leader for video
creation and management
solutions, today announced The Schallert Group, Inc. uses Mediasite to play
an integral role in its Destination University® — the first online business
training library for independent business owners, community organizations and
business associations.
The Schallert Group specializes in
teaching businesses and communities how to grow their sales and customer
traffic and turn themselves into “Consumer Destinations.” Destination
University®
members can access more than 150 exclusive online trainings in 14 topic areas,
such as marketing, advertising and store design. Jon Schallert, the Group’s
president and an internationally-recognized speaker and business consultant,
interviews top business experts and world-class authors monthly to help his
clients stay on top of the latest business trends.
These trainings are recorded via
Mediasite from his office in Longmont, Colo. Members can access them anytime,
anywhere, making it possible for him to reach people all over the world and
reduce travel at the same time.
“We wanted to create an affordable
online training program that could reach thousands of independent business
owners in multiple downtowns and rural communities at the same time,” Schallert
said. “We saw how universities were using Mediasite for lecture capture so
students can participate anytime and anyplace, and we wanted the same leading-edge
technology.”
Schallert purchased a historic
Colorado building that is currently being renovated to be the new studio to
conduct interviews for a live audience on-site, as well as broadcast online
live via Mediasite. It is scheduled to open Dec. 1.
“We’re reaching a lot more people
than we ever imagined all over the world with Mediasite. We want to be the
center for small business learning in the country,” Schallert said. “In the
past I used to have to travel to 70 to 80 organizations a year. Through our
online training with Mediasite, I only conduct 25-30 workshops.”
“Corporations and educational
institutions of all sizes rely on Mediasite to transform education, accelerate
training, personalize communications and amplify knowledge,” said Gary Weis,
Sonic Foundry CEO. “Jon Schallert is able to provide business training to the
masses using Mediasite, and it’s an honor to partner with him to bring his
expertise to people all over the world.”
Trusted by educational
institutions, corporations and government entities, the patented Mediasite
video content management and webcasting system quickly and cost-effectively
automates the capture, management, delivery and search of live and on-demand
streaming videos and rich media.
