JVC UNVEILS DLA-RS4800 D-ILA 3D PROJECTOR AT CEDIA 2011
- WAYNE, NJ (September 8, 2011) – JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., expands its Reference Series lineup at CEDIA EXPO 2011 with the debut of the new DLA-RS4800, an affordably priced ISF certified 3D projector with 55,000:1 native contrast ratio – the highest in its class. Designed for custom installations, the DLA-RS4800 features JVC's latest generation D-ILA technology with advanced 3D capabilities, including a built-in 2D-3D converter.
- JVC's Reference Series projectors have set the industry standard for full HD 3D performance. The DLA-RS4800 takes 3D to the next level, producing brighter images with significantly reduced crosstalk. A new mode allows anamorphic lenses to be used with 3D content. And for more comfortable 3D viewing, a parallax adjustment lets viewers control the 3D effect. 2D programs may now be converted to 3D using a proprietary algorithm developed by JVC for high-end Hollywood applications.
- “The DLA-RS4800 offers a substantial feature set for discerning home theater enthusiasts,” said Gary Klasmeier, product engineering manager, D-ILA Systems. “It is an ISF certified 3D home theater projector available for less than $5,000.”
- The DLA-RS4800 features three, 0.7-inch 1920x1080 D-ILA imagers that produce naturally rich, flicker-free images with true blacks and extraordinary luminance detail. Combined with JVC’s wire-grid optical engine, they deliver outstanding 55,000:1 native contrast, without a dynamic iris to artificially enhance contrast specifications.
- Designed as an affordable alternative to JVC's higher-end Reference Series models, the DLA-RS4800 includes enhancements that not only deliver extremely high image quality, but do so on a limited budget. For example, programmable lens memories enable a constant height screen solution without reliance on an anamorphic lens. Plus, the same screen can be used for traditional 16:9 or 4:3 images without moving lenses. Three user memory positions are provided for storing lens settings such as focus, zoom, and HV offset.
- With its HDMI 1.4a port, the DLA-RS4800 supports an expanded range of side-by-side (broadcast) and frame packed (Blu-ray) 3D signals. It is also compatible with JVC’s new PK-AG2 Active Shutter 3D Glasses and PK-EM1 3D Signal Emitter (sold separately), which ensures solid signal transmission to the 3D glasses for a superior 3D experience.
- The DLA-RS4800 is delivered with specialized quality control and includes a three-year warranty and spare lamp. It will be available through limited distribution in November 2011 with a suggested list price of $4,995.
- The DLA-RS4800 is one of five new professional D-ILA projectors being introduced at CEDIA EXPO 2011.
