BTX Technologies today announced that it will introduce its new, patent-pending ProBlox™-D all-in-one connector system at InfoComm ‘09. The field-terminatable system is the A/V industry’s first to incorporate multiple data, HD video, audio, and control signals in a single connector to save installers time during setup.
The ProBlox-D contains two Cat 5e connectors along with 16 HD video and 18 audio and control contacts — all field-terminatable. The all-in-one connector system simplifies setup for A/V applications in classrooms, houses of worship, conference rooms, or any setting where multiple signals of different formats need to be delivered to a single connection point. The addition of the Cat 5e components takes advantage of all the signals, including HDMI, DVI, and VGA that can now effectively be run over one or two Cat 5e cables.
The BTX ProBlox and ProBlox-D systems not only allow installers to make one connection during setup to save time, but it gives non-technical users, such as teachers or pastors, the ability to hook up to a podium without the need for technical assistance.
“ProBlox-D is another example of how our award-winning engineering and design department creates products to simplify and make the job of the integrator easier,” said Greg Schwartz, president of BTX Technologies. “We thank the integration community for providing the feedback we need to create useful products that bring value.”
ProBlox-D can be purchased for field termination with simple hand tools or as completed assemblies, panels, wall plates, or cable reels. The new version, now incorporating data, will be available in Q3 of 2009.
